Arctic charts from 1933 through 2006 are collected in this data set. Chart frequency and spatial coverage varies, but charts were compiled every 10 days during the navigation season, and monthly for the rest of the year, over most of the series. There is a gap with no charts from 1993 through 1996. Chart coverage focuses on the Northern Sea Route, although later charts extend into the central Arctic. The charts were compiled from a variety of data sources, with heavy reliance on regular reconnaissance flights for most of the series until 1992.
</Summary><Related_URL><URL_Content_Type><Type>VIEW RELATED INFORMATION</Type></URL_Content_Type><URL>http://dx.doi.org/10.7265/N5D21VHJ</URL><Description>Documentation</Description></Related_URL><Related_URL><URL_Content_Type><Type>GET DATA</Type></URL_Content_Type><URL>https://noaadata.apps.nsidc.org/NOAA/G02176/</URL><Description>HTTPS</Description></Related_URL><Related_URL><URL_Content_Type><Type>VIEW RELATED INFORMATION</Type></URL_Content_Type><URL>http://nsidc.org/data/g00799.html</URL><Description>Arctic and Southern Ocean Sea Ice Concentrations</Description></Related_URL><Related_URL><URL_Content_Type><Type>VIEW RELATED INFORMATION</Type></URL_Content_Type><URL>http://nsidc.org/data/g01111.html</URL><Description>The Dehn Collection of Arctic Sea Ice Charts, 1953-1986</Description></Related_URL><Related_URL><URL_Content_Type><Type>VIEW RELATED INFORMATION</Type></URL_Content_Type><URL>http://nsidc.org/data/g01962.html</URL><Description>Environmental Working Group Joint U.S.-Russian Arctic Sea Ice Atlas</Description></Related_URL><Related_URL><URL_Content_Type><Type>VIEW RELATED INFORMATION</Type></URL_Content_Type><URL>http://nsidc.org/data/g02172.html</URL><Description>National Ice Center Arctic Sea Ice Charts and Climatologies in Gridded Format</Description></Related_URL><Related_URL><URL_Content_Type><Type>VIEW RELATED INFORMATION</Type></URL_Content_Type><URL>http://nsidc.org/data/g02186.html</URL><Description>Multisensor Analyzed Sea Ice Extent - Northern Hemisphere (MASIE-NH)</Description></Related_URL><Related_URL><URL_Content_Type><Type>VIEW RELATED INFORMATION</Type></URL_Content_Type><URL>http://nsidc.org/data/g02182.html</URL><Description>Sea Ice Edge Location and Extent in the Russian Arctic, 1933-2006</Description></Related_URL><Related_URL><URL_Content_Type><Type>VIEW RELATED INFORMATION</Type></URL_Content_Type><URL>http://nsidc.org/data/g02169.html</URL><Description>March through August Ice Edge Positions in the Nordic Seas, 1750-2002.</Description></Related_URL><Metadata_Name>CEOS IDN DIF</Metadata_Name><Metadata_Version>VERSION 9.9</Metadata_Version><DIF_Creation_Date>2007-11-12</DIF_Creation_Date><Last_DIF_Revision_Date>2026-01-26</Last_DIF_Revision_Date><Extended_Metadata><Metadata><Group>NSIDC</Group><Name>Version Summary</Name><Value>Initial release.</Value></Metadata><Metadata><Group>NSIDC</Group><Name>Minor Version</Name><Value/></Metadata><Metadata><Group>NSIDC</Group><Name>Current Version</Name><Value>1</Value></Metadata><Metadata><Group>NSIDC</Group><Name>Level of Service</Name><Value><Level>Standard</Level></Value></Metadata><Metadata><Group>NSIDC</Group><Name>Full Dataset Citation</Name><Value>Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute.
