About this job: 

The Data Operations Specialist will manage NSIDC's data systems, custom software stacks, data storage, and backups. You will develop automation scripts, troubleshoot performance issues, and recommend system improvements. You will migrate scientific data between data management systems, and implement and monitor ingestion, archival, and distribution. You will collaborate with a talented team to enhance and extend our systems through best practices in data management, required features, and known use cases. You may also be expected to document systems and procedures, process data, and lead data management activities.

Ideally, you will have a background in management of remote sensing data, as well as a solid understanding of operational systems, version control, continuous integration, virtual machines, and cloud technologies.
