The Technical Writer, part of the Science Communications Group, interacts with several teams at NSIDC to publish and upkeep cryospheric data sets for use by the scientific communities served by NSIDC. The Technical Writer creates and maintains documentation for a broad array of scientific data sets describing remote sensing, airborne, or in situ data. This includes researching and writing about the methods, instrumentation, algorithms, and processing steps used to collect the data.

The NSIDC DAAC Project Lead supports the NASA Snow and Ice Distributed Active Archive Center (DAAC) at the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) and is a member of the NSIDC DAAC management team. The Project Lead supports the NSIDC DAAC mission to preserve NASA Earth science data and make it discoverable, accessible, and usable. As one of 12 DAACs within the NASA Earth Observing System Data Information System (EOSDIS), NSIDC DAAC applications are closely integrated with EOSDIS enterprise services and technologies.
