3.43. AIRS Browse Search

[Home] [Prev] [Next] [Up] [Index]

Retrieving AIRS data via the AIRS Browse Search involves searching for AIRS "Summary Browse" data sets, then using one summary browse image as a base map to specify a geographic area of interest. This geographic area is then used to find specific AIRS data granules.

Using AIRS Browse Search is a four-step process:

Step 1: Choose one or more "summary browse" data sets for retrieval from the relevant data center(s). After choosing the summary browse data sets and providing a start and end date/time range, click the Start Search button. A search will be sent to the appropriate data center(s) and the relevant summary browse granules will be returned.

Step 2: Retrieve the summary browse imagery from the summary browse granules. Click on the "Image" link associated with the desired granule.

Step 3: Choose a single summary browse image from the multiple browse images that are returned via step two.

Step 4: Specify the geographic area of interest and submit a search for AIRS data granules.
