Description:
The ice sheet surface rises steeply at its edge, but progressively less towards the Pole.   Here are our elevation measurements for the first 13 km.  The elevation of the ice-rock base was estimated from gravity measurements at the surface.  Ice (or rock!) temperatures measured 10 m below the surface are roughly equal to the mean annual air temperature above.  Original Slide 19 of 30.
