Multi-instrument Assessment of Ice Sheet Contributions to Sea Level

NASAThis project is funded by NASA grant NNX10AR76G

Collaborator

Ted Scambos (NSIDC)

Project Summary

The research centers on using multiple means of measuring changes in the components of ice sheet mass balance (e.g., ice velocity, surface melting, surface compaction, gravitational changes due to mass loss, altimetry) and look at processes that complicate simple interpretations of satellite measurements, or means of intercomparing measurements to strengthen conclusions (or accuracy of measurements) regarding mass changes of the ice sheets.
