style="mso-ansi-language:EN-GB" lang="EN-GB">Background</span></i></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0cm"><span
style="mso-ansi-language: EN-GB" lang="EN-GB">The <b>Working
Group Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry </b>at the Institute
of Geodesy at TU Graz focusses on the investigation and
monitoring of different components of the crysophere as well as
hazards in different mountain regions of the Earth with the
focus on the Austrian Alps and High Mountain Asia. For this we
apply different optical and microwave remote sensing data and
develop methods and algorithm to map different land cover types
and objects and assess and monitor their changes.<span
style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>We also teach basic and
advanced remote sensing and photogrammetry at bachelor and
master level with the focus on the physical background,
algorithms and relevant applications.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"
style="margin-top:6.0pt;margin-right:0cm;margin-bottom:0cm;
margin-left:0cm"><b><i><span style="mso-ansi-language:EN-GB"
lang="EN-GB">Specifics and Responsibilities of the Position</span></i></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0cm"><span
style="mso-ansi-language: EN-GB" lang="EN-GB">The candidate
should contribute to the research of the group and apply and
further develop remote sensing and photogrammetric methods and
generate digital elevation models from various sources to
identify and monitor glaciers, rock glaciers and
geomorphological processes in high mountain areas. He/she should
develop related software and algorithms and also perform field
work with detailed measurements using UAVs and Laser scanners.
He/she is expected to write a PhD thesis and scientific
articles. Moreover, the candidate should support the teaching
activities of the working group and supervise Bachelor and
Master theses. </span></p>

lang="EN-GB">Required Qualifications</span></i></b><span
style="mso-ansi-language:EN-GB" lang="EN-GB">:</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0cm"><span
style="mso-ansi-language: EN-GB" lang="EN-GB">Prerequisite is a
MSc in Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, or Geography or similar
subject with the focus on remote sensing or a similar
qualification at a national or international school or
university<span style="mso-no-proof:yes">. Profound knowledge in
remote sensing and photogrammetry and relevant software
packages (ErdasImagine, Geomatica, SNAP, Agisoft or similar)
as well as experiences in working with different optical
sensors are expected. Experiences with different microwave
sensors and data acquisition with UAVs and laser-scanners are
an advantage.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span
style="mso-ansi-language:EN-GB;mso-no-proof: yes" lang="EN-GB">The
candidate should be proficient in at least one programming
language (e.g. C++, Python). Moreover he/she should be fluent in
English and have at least some basic knowledge in German or is
willing to learn the German language. Knowledge in glaciology
and geomorphological processes are an advantage but not a
