Hello all,

In association with the IGS Symposium on Disappearing Ice, GLIMS will hold
an approximately 4-hour GLIMS meeting to address the following topics:

- Update on new data in the database and uses of GLIMS data [15 minutes]
- Update on the GLIMS book [20 minutes]
- Discussion of methods for glacier mapping, as agreed upon at recent
meetings and symposia (e.g. GLIMS Workshop held in Boulder, Colorado, and
the IGS Workshop on Glacier Inventory, held in Lanzhou, China, both in
2008). Discussion of problems encountered by Regional Centers in glacier
   mapping. Q and A. [2 hours]
- Discussion of new online tools either available or in the works at NSIDC
to help the GLIMS analysis process. [30 minutes]
- Additional time built in for breaks, discussion [55 minutes]

The GLIMS meeting will focus on GLIMS updates and techniques. We will not
spend time on GLIMS-related scientific results, which should be presented
at the IGS symposium. If you have further topics you'd like to suggest,
please feel free to suggest them. The program for the IGS symposium has
not been announced yet, but we are tentatively scheduling the GLIMS
meeting for Wednesday, August 18th, from 13:00 to 17:30.

Information about this meeting is posted at

REMINDER: The deadline for the submission of abstracts to the IGS
symposium is April 23. Please let us know if you intend to attend the
GLIMS meeting by that same date.
