GLIMS in Earth Observer

Dear GLIMS colleagues,

A brief article about GLIMS, especially its justification, goals, and
historic development, was published on Pg. 5-6 of the Nov/Dec issue of The
Earth Observer at http://eospso.gsfc.nasa.gov/eos_observ/pdf/Nov-Dec05.pdf
It is good that we are getting this high-profile coverage, but more
essential that the public is continuing to have access to messages such as
the one contained in the article.

There is an error, which was NOT Mike Abrams' fault and not even the Earth
Observer's fault (just miscommunication, for which I should bear the blame)
which will be corrected in the next issue with this Erratum:

"The article titled Global Land Ice Measurements from Space, The Earth
Observer, Vol. 17, Issue 6, pp 5-6, was written by Jeffrey S. Kargel,
University of Arizona, kargel at hwr.arizona.edu, rather than Mike Abrams. The
Earth Observer staff regrets this error."

Anyway, the message is far more important, especially these days, than the
messenger.

Cheers,

Jeff K
