Dear colleagues,

Since our GLIMS efforts involve using ASTER L1B data from many locations
around the globe, the ASTER Science Team has asked for our help. We
would like to hear about your experiences regarding the accuracy of the
coordinates and geometry of ASTER data that you have used. For
instance, some members have reported that the lat/lon coordinates
provided with ASTER are sometimes 200 to 300 meters or more off from the
known location. This error, when it occurs, may be greatest in polar
regions.

If you know of such errors, please reply to me with your estimate of the
amount of error you observed (both in x and y if possible), the image
location lat/lon, and the image date:time. The ASTER Science Team in
Japan will use your observations to identify potential problems try to
improve the next version of L1B processing software.

Thank you for your help.
