NSIDC Director Receives Royal Geographical Society Medal

Roger Barry, Director of NSIDC and the World Data Center for Glaciology, is this year's recipient of the Founder's Medal, presented to recognize Barry's international leadership of research on climate and climate change.

Barry will accept his award in London at the Royal Geographical Society Annual Meeting on June 4, 2007. Since 1832, the Society has awarded medals to such recipients as Sir Alexander Burnes, David Livingstone, Alfred Russel Wallace, Captain R. Scott, Professor Peter Haggett, and Sir Crispin Tickell.
