Local "Ice Fest" Celebrates the International Polar Year

NSIDC is participating in Ice Fest, a community-wide event in Boulder, Colorado, that marks the beginning of the International Polar Year (IPY). The free event takes place from March 8 through March 11 at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Ice Fest features films, science talks, and activities around the themes of snow, ice, polar research, and climate studies. The celebration is sponsored by NSIDC's parent organization, the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Science (CIRES), as well as other organizations.
