NSIDC Holds Open House for Students

More than 180 eighth-graders from Boulder's Southern Hills Middle School will visit NSIDC as part of an open house with the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research (INSTAAR), a neighboring organization at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

The open house will take place between 9:00 am and noon on Friday, April 28, and will include lab tours, talks, science games, and a field trip along Boulder Creek. One of the talks, given by research associate William Manley and titled "Global Warming and the Arctic in 3D," will include an animated "fly-through" of the Arctic region.

For more information about NSIDC's participation in the open house, please contact Betsy Sheffield at betsys@nsidc.org or 303-492-4549. To view the full University of Colorado at Boulder press release, go to http://www.colorado.edu/news/releases/2006/150.html.
