Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer
(MODIS) Images
NSIDC archives and distributes snow and sea ice products derived from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on the NASA Earth Observing System (EOS) Terra satellite.
MODIS data will help scientists understand the Earth as a system, facilitating their ability to predict global climate changes and to differentiate between the impact of human activities and natural activities on the environment. MODIS data might also assist policy makers around the world in making sound decisions concerning protection and management of our environment and resources.
