Bibliography on Southern Hemisphere Permafrost and Periglacial Research

The aim of this bibliography is to provide an access point for permafrost scientists and researchers from related fields to existing permafrost and periglacial literature covering the Southern Hemisphere.

The bibliography was compiled and edited by Jan Boelhouwers and Kevin Hall. Members of the IPA Southern Hemisphere Working Group (SHWG) contributed material to the bibliography. Each regional representative solicited material from the regional network of scientists. In addition, material was collected from the following databases:

Keywords used in the searches consisted of the terms Permafrost, Periglacial, and Cryosols combined with the regional identifiers Antarctic, Subantarctic, Andes, Patagonia, Australia, Tasmania, New Zealand, Africa. Equatorial mountain environments in eastern Africa (Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Kenya) and the Andes (Venezuelan paramo) have been excluded from this compilation because they are treated as Northern Hemisphere regions.

The Bibliography on Southern Hemisphere Permafrost and Periglacial Research currently consists of a single alphabetical listing of all material. For additional information see
