Ice Velocities of Pine Island Glacier, 1973-1975
The background image for the above overview map is a subscene from the
1973 Landsat 1 MSS (multispectral scanner) image used in the production of
these data.
Velocity Measurement Method
These velocity vectors were derived by applying the IMCORR
cross-correlation software (Scambos 1992) to two Landsat images (details
below) that had been coregistered. Estimated uncertainty for location is
a few hundred meters.
