This page is currently under construction. However, SAGE will be coming soon.
SAGE will be a scalable cryospheric analysis portal for the study of Greenland’s ice mass balance. This portal will include interactive data analysis tools, seamless data access, and interoperable information services. To make this possible, a set of existing subsetting, gridding, projection, and visualization tools at NSIDC will be made into modular Web services. Also, as part of this project, NSIDC will bring in several new data sets.
To give you an idea of what SAGE has to offer, below are some sample images of the different types of plots that can be generated from SAGE:

Figure 1. Mean 19 GHz Brightness Temperature (Horizontal Polarization, Descending Pass) Time Series for Central Greenland from April through October 2005

Figure 2. Snow Melt Daily Percent Time Series from May through October 2005

Figure 3. Time Series of Histograms for Albedo from 1 July through 12 July 2000

Figure 4. Small Image Time Series of Albedo from 1 July through 12 July 2000

Figure 5. Box and Whisker Time Series of Albedo from 1 July through 12 July 2000
Now that you have had a chance to look at the Alpah release of SAGE, please consider taking our online SAGE Data and Features Survey. Your comments are instrumental in helping us design a useful portal for the study of Greenland’s ice mass balance, and we appreciate any time you may have to help us in achieving this goal.
