NASA IceBridge LVIS L0 Data Update

The NASA IceBridge LVIS L0 Raw Ranges data set now includes data for the 2015 Antarctica campaign. This data set contains raw laser altimeter, Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), Global Positioning System (GPS), and camera data over Greenland, Antarctica, and Alaska taken from the NASA Land, Vegetation, and Ice Sensor (LVIS).

Updates for IceBridge Snow Radar L1B Geolocated Radar Echo Strength Profiles

The NASA IceBridge Snow Radar L1B Geolocated Radar Echo Strength Profiles Version 1 and Version 2 data products have been updated.  Version 1 2009 to 2012 Greenland MATLAB and binary data files have been reformatted to netCDF and the 2009 to 2012 Greenland data are now included with Version 2.  The data remaining in Version 1 are Antarctica 2009 to 2011.  A time field correction has been applied to data files for Version 2 2012 Antarctica and 2013 Greenland campaigns.  On 10 February 2016, deconvolution files and supplement files were added to the Version 2 2009 to 2015 Greenland data files captured over sea ice.  This data set contains radar echograms taken from the Center for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets (CReSIS) ultra wide-band snow radar over land and sea ice in the Arctic and Antarctic.

NASA IceBridge ATM L1B Elevation and Return Strength data for 2015 Arctic are now available from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).

This data set contains spot elevation measurements of Arctic and Antarctic sea ice, and Greenland, Antarctic Peninsula, and West Antarctic region ice surface acquired using the NASA Airborne Topographic Mapper (ATM) instrumentation.

NASA IceBridge ATM L2 Icessn Elevation, Slope, and Roughness data for 2015 Arctic are now available from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).

This data set contains resampled and smoothed elevation measurements of Arctic and Antarctic sea ice, and Greenland, Antarctic Peninsula, and West Antarctic region land ice surface acquired using the NASA Airborne Topographic Mapper (ATM) instrumentation.

NASA IceBridge Narrow Swath ATM L1B Elevation and Return Strength data for 2015 Arctic are now available from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).

This data set contains spot elevation measurements of Greenland, Arctic, and Antarctic sea ice acquired using the NASA Airborne Topographic Mapper (ATM) 4CT3 narrow scan instrumentation.

NASA IceBridge DMS L0 Raw Imagery 2015 Greenland data are now available from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set contains level zero imagery taken from the Digital Mapping System (DMS) over Antarctica and Greenland.

Update for NASA IceBridge MCoRDS L2 Ice Thickness Data

NASA IceBridge MCoRDS L2 Ice Thickness data for 2014 Antarctica are now available from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).  This data set contains depth sounder measurements of elevation, surface, bottom, and thickness for Greenland and Antarctica taken from the Multichannel Coherent Radar Depth Sounder (MCoRDS).

NASA IceBridge DMS L1B Geolocated and Orthorectified Images for 2015 Greenland are now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).  This data set contains Level-1B imagery taken from the Digital Mapping System (DMS) over Greenland and Antarctica.

New IceBridge L4 Sea Ice Freeboard, Snow Depth, and Thickness Data

NASA IceBridge L4 Sea Ice Freeboard, Snow Depth, and Thickness 2009 and 2010 Antarctica data are now available from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).  Greenland data for 26 March 2013, 27 March 2013, and 25 April 2013 also have been added to the data set.  In addition, in the previous version of IDCSI4 data files, it was discovered that the Surface Temperature variable was blank. Surface Temperature values are now included.

This data set contains derived geophysical data products including sea ice freeboard, snow depth, and sea ice thickness measurements in Antarctica, Greenland, and the Arctic retrieved from IceBridge Snow Radar, Digital Mapping System (DMS), Continuous Airborne Mapping By Optical Translator (CAMBOT), and Airborne Topographic Mapper (ATM) data sets.

Update for NASA IceBridge ATM L2 Icessn Elevation, Slope, and Roughness

The NASA IceBridge ATM L2 Icessn Elevation, Slope, and Roughness (ILATM2) Version 2 data set now includes all data from 31 March 2009 to present. On 10 August 2015, Version 1 fixed-width space-delimited ASCII text files for 31 March 2009 to 08 November 2012 were replaced with Comma Separated Values (CSV) files and are now included with ILATM2 Version 2 data. This data set contains resampled and smoothed elevation measurements of Arctic and Antarctic sea ice, and Greenland, Antarctic Peninsula, and West Antarctic region land ice surface acquired using the NASA Airborne Topographic Mapper (ATM) instrumentation.

Radiostratigraphy and Age Structure of the Greenland Ice Sheet Data Published

NASA IceBridge-related Radiostratigraphy and Age Structure of the Greenland Ice Sheet data are now published at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set contains the traced deep radiostratigraphy of the Greenland Ice Sheet from airborne deep ice-penetrating radar data collected by The University of Kansas Improved Coherent Radar Depth Sounder (ICORDS), Advanced Coherent Radar Depth Sounder (ACORDS), Multi-Channel Radar Depth Sounder (MCRDS), and Multichannel Coherent Radar Depth Sounder (MCoRDS) instruments between 1993 and 2013.

Update for NASA IceBridge POS/AV L1B Data

NASA IceBridge POS/AV L1B Corrected Position and Attitude Data for Arctic 2015 are now available from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set contains georeferencing data from the Applanix 510 POS AV system flown with the Digital Mapping System (DMS) and other instruments over Greenland and Antarctica.

Update for NASA IceBridge ATM L4 Surface Elevation Rate of Change Data

The NASA IceBridge ATM L4 Surface Elevation Rate of Change data set now includes measurements based on comparisons of earlier years with 2014.  The data are available from NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).  Compared dates include: 2002.11.26, 2004.11.18, 2008.10.12, 2009.10.16, 2010.11.05, 2011.10.14 and 2012.10.12.  This data set contains surface elevation rate of change measurements derived from IceBridge and Pre-IceBridge Airborne Topographic Mapper (ATM) widescan elevation measurements data (ILATM1B) for Arctic and Antarctic missions flown under NASA’s Operation IceBridge (OIB) and Arctic Ice Mapping (AIM) projects.

Reprocessed IceBridge Sea Ice Freeboard, Snow Depth, and Thickness Data

Reprocessed NASA IceBridge Sea Ice Freeboard, Snow Depth, and Thickness Arctic data are now available from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC).  The IceBridge L4 Sea Ice Freeboard, Snow Depth, and Thickness (IDCSI4) product is informally regarded as Version 2 of the IceBridge Sea Ice Freeboard, Snow Depth, and Thickness (IDCSI2) product. Adding L4 (Level-4) to the data set name more accurately represents the data processing level.  Currently, the reprocessed L4 data include Arctic campaigns from 2009 to 2012.  Reprocessed Antarctica data are forthcoming.

This data set contains derived geophysical data products including sea ice freeboard, snow depth, and sea ice thickness measurements in Greenland and the Arctic retrieved from IceBridge Snow Radar, Digital Mapping System (DMS), Continuous Airborne Mapping By Optical Translator (CAMBOT), and Airborne Topographic Mapper (ATM) data sets.
