V01.1 27 June 2008 to 02 August 2008 On July 19, 2012, data files for dates 27 June 2008 through 02 August 2008 were replaced by Version 01.1. The difference between V01 and V01.1 relates to the limit imposed on the GPS PDOP. The arrangement of the GPS satellites at any given time affects the theoretical precision of the estimated aircraft position. A figure of merit of this impact is the Positional Dilution of Precision (PDOP). Word 10 of the 12-word qfit data format contains the PDOP value multiplied x10. Lower PDOP implies greater precision. The V01 processing eliminated any data with a PDOP greater than 9, possibly causing some gaps in the data coverage. Some applications of the data, with less stringent accuracy requirement, might benefit from inclusion of less accurate data rather than having no data in these gaps. The V01.1 processing allows PDOP up to 20. The qfit data can be filtered using word 10 to select a desired PDOP cutoff. The provided icessn data are derived from qfit data with a PDOP of 20 or lower.

IceBridge DMS L1B Geolocated and Orthorectified Images (IODMS1B)

V01.1 16 October 2009 to 08 December 2009 On April 13, 2011, V01 2009 Antarctica DMS data were replaced by V01.1. The V01 2009 Antarctica DMS data required re-processing because the data were projected using the SRTMplus Digital Elevation Model (DEM). This DEM references the sea floor for all non-terrestrial locations. In addition, during re-processing, a more refined boresight model was employed and provides a more accurate attitude reference.
V01.2 11 April 2012 Version 01.2 data for 2012 Greenland. On March 18, 2013, 9505 frames were replaced with reprocessed data for the 11 April 2012 East Glaciers-1 flight. If you downloaded the 11 April 2012 files prior to 18 March 2013, it is recommended that you re-download them. The original frames from the flight's Level-1B files were smaller and of lower resolution than images earlier in the flight at the same aircraft height above ground level (AGL) of 470-480 m. The affected 11 April 2012 frames include: 09186 to 09189, 09243 to 09268, 09270 to 09368, 09376 to 09385, 09391 to 10428, 10488 to 10733, and 10833 to 18914.

IceBridge Ku-Band Radar L1B Geolocated Radar Echo Strength Profiles (IRKUB1B)

V01.1 26 March 2010 to 26 May 2010 On August 19, 2011, the 2010 Ku-Band L1B Greenland data were replaced by V01.1. For some days the variable record length in the header was more than one 32 bit integer when it should be one 32 bit integer. This offset the records. This is corrected in the August 19, 2011 replacement data.

V01.1 16 October 2009 to 18 November 2009 On April 12, 2011, 2009 Antarctica MCoRDS data were replaced by V01.1. The original 2009 Antarctica data were processed through a temporary process with quick look data products only. V01.1 data are produced from full Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) processing.
V01.2 26 October 2010 to 11 November 2010 On May 16, 2011, the 2010 Antarctica MCoRDS data were replaced by V01.2. The initial 2010 Antarctica data release was a quick look product released immediately upon return from the field. It was Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) processed, but the cross-track array processing was greatly simplified. The V01.2 release is the standard product produced from full SAR processing.
V01.3 16 October 2009 to 11 November 2010 On October 17, 2011, the V1.02 2009 and 2010 Antarctica MCoRDS data were replaced by V01.3. In V1.03, the kml_good directories have been removed. The echogram data product offerings have been trimmed to a single echogram per data nodule. V1.02 included CSARP_csarp-combined, CSARP_standard, CSARP_mvdr, and CSARP_qlook. V1.03 includes only CSARP_standard. All "Data_img_01_YYYY..." and "Data_img_02_YYYY..." files have been removed so that the only files left are the "Data_YYYY..." files. In the case where only a single image file was produced in the past, i.e. "Data_img_01_YYYY..." these have been renamed to "Data_YYYY...".
V01.4 27 March 2012 to 17 May 2012 On 16 November 2012, the 2012 Greenland data were replaced with Version 01.4. One data segment was added and one segment was removed from the original 2012 Greenland data posted in July 2012. All of the 2012 Greenland data have been reprocessed but the difference in content between Version 01.3 and 01.4 should be negligible. If you downloaded the 2012 Greenland data prior to November 16, 2012, it is recommended to re-download the data.

IceBridge POS AV L1B Corrected Position and Attitude Data (IPAPP1B)

V01 27 March 2009 to 18 November 2009 Initial release of POS AV data. The V01 data were obtained from the Applanix POS AV System connected to the ATM instrument. The data were only available for flights on which ATM was operational. There were no problems with the ATM version of the data, but the V01 data were replaced by V01.1 for the sake of completion across all instruments.
V01.1 27 March 2009 to 23 November 2010 The V01 release of POS AV data were obtained from the Applanix POS AV System connected to the ATM instrument. Data collected by the Applanix POS AV System connected to the DMS instrument replaces V01.

IceBridge Sander AIRGrav L1B Geolocated Free Air Gravity Anomalies (IGGRV1B)

V01.1 22 March 2010 to 28 May 2010 All of the 2010 Greenland data for the IceBridge Sander AIRGrav L1B Geolocated Free Air Gravity Anomalies data set have been replaced as of 01 October 2010. The data were all correct, however, the transformation to the Scientific Committee of Antarctic Research (SCAR) Polar Stereographic projection was in error. This has been corrected with the Version 01.1 data.
V01.2 16 October 2009 to 18 November 2009 All of the 2009 Antarctica data for the IceBridge Sander AIRGrav L1B Geolocated Free Air Gravity Anomalies data set have been replaced as of 27 June 2011. The previous version of the data required re-processing because an error was discovered in the aircraft attitude data files that caused everything for the 2009 Antarctica flights to be rotated 180 degrees. Additionally, after 2009, gravity data processing was changed from a simple free air correction formula to a second order free air correction. Also, since 2009 there have been processing improvements that reduce noise levels, especially at shorter wavelengths (70s) on some lines. The 2009 Antarctica data files have been re-processed for second order free air correction and reduction of noise levels. These changes have been made with the Version 01.2 data.
V01.3 16 October 2009 to 20 November 2010 On 21 May 2012, the 2009 and 2010 Antarctica data were replaced by V01.3. The previous data versions were organized regionally by glacier basin. V01.3 gravity data are organized by flight lines.
V01.4 22 March 2010 to 28 May 2010, and 14 March 2011 to 16 May 2011 On 26 November 2012, the 2010 and 2011 Greenland data were replaced by Version 01.4. The V01.4 data are arranged by flight, rather than broken into lines grouped by area. The last field in the data files is now a data quality flag, instead of a gridded value. Aircraft attitude data are no longer included.
V01.5 16 October 2009 to 19 November 2011 On 28 February 2013, the 2009, 2010, and 2011 Antarctica data were replaced by Version 01.5. The V01.5 data are arranged by flight, rather than broken into lines grouped by area. The file naming convention has changed. As it is not used, the "grid" column has been removed from the data files.

The data have been releveled. In a few places the data values may be slightly different than in older versions. The leveling adjustments are very small, approximately 0.1 to 0.3 mGal, and are present only for new lines during 2012 in an area where only a few lines were flown, such as the Foundation/Recovery area. The leveling adjustment is given in data column 18. It is constant offset for a particular track line and thus does not affect interpretation. This is not common and the adjustments are very small and thus do not affect interpretation.

The replacement 2010 Antarctica data contain one less data file than the previous version. The file, IGGRV1B_V01_20101018.xyz, was a transit flight where the meter was being tested, and was removed because it does not apply to Antarctica.

IceBridge Snow Radar L1B Geolocated Radar Echo Strength Profiles (IRSNO1B)

V01.1 31 March 2009 to 05 May 2009 As of June 10, 2011, all of the 2009 Greenland binary files (.bin) were replaced. The GPS time written in the headers of the previously published binary files contained an error. The error is corrected in the current binary files.
V01.2 02 April 2009 As of July 19, 2011, the following changes were made to files in the 2009 Greenland file directory folder /IRSNO1B_SnowRadarXyEcho_v01/2009_GR_NASA/04022009/: Files data00.0005 thru data00.0020 were replaced. Files data00.0001 through data00.0004 were removed, as the recording on the radar froze. Files in directory folder /20090402_2/ were not altered in any way. If you downloaded the 2009 Greenland data prior to July 19, 2011, we suggest you re-download the /04022009/ folder.

V01.1 19 August 2009 to 29 August 2010 On 21 September 2012, the 2009 and 2010 data were replaced with V01.1 reprocessed data. The reprocessing involved: 1) Identifying and correcting infrequent timing shifts wherein the laser scanner data and IMU/GPS data were misaligned by 1 or 2 integer seconds. This only concerned a small handful of files, but the effect can introduce errors on the order of 10's to 100's of meters in horizontal and vertical coordinates of the point cloud data. 2) Applying corrected boresight angles, that is, the small angular offsets between the IMU/GPS reference frame and the laser vector. These corrections were applied to all data. The previous, incorrect boresight angles introduced errors on the order of meters to 10's of meters in the horizontal and vertical coordinates of the point cloud data. 3) Cleaning of spurious data points that did not represent real targets or surfaces. These appear in the previous versions of these data as random, individual points far away from the surfaces being imaged.
