Pacific and European Grids Map
The Polar Gridded AVHRR Brightness Temperatures data set uses the same projection and grid as the North Polar SSM/I Grid used by the NSIDC for the Arctic SSM/I data. To match the SSM/I grid alignment and cover most of the Arctic, the Pacific and European Grids Map depicted here were used. The Pacific grid covers the Beaufort, Chukchi, and East Siberian Seas while the European grid covers the Barents, Kara, and some of the East Greenland and Laptev Seas.
