plot: permeability vs. depth

Permeability measurements are plotted vs. depth. Maximum permeability is at 3 m depth, calling into question a common assumption that permeability decreases with depth in firn due to compaction. This may be a result of snow and firn metamorphism. Recrystallization in near-subsurface firn may create greater pore space.
