Ordering AMSR-E Data from NSIDC

On Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (USA Mountain Time), AMSR-E, ICESat/GLAS, MODIS, and NISE data are normally unavailable for ordering due to system maintenance.

AMSR-E products are available from five sources: Data Pool, EOS Data Gateway, Preliminary Data, SNOWI, and Subscriptions. The highest version number represents the best quality data available.

Order Options

Data Pool

The Data Pool is a short-term data cache that provides File Transfer Protocol (FTP) access to the entire archive of AE_Rain.001, AE_Land.001, and AE_L2A.002 data, and the most recent 75 days of all other AMSR-E data products.

EOS Data Gateway

To users of the EOS Data Gateway (EDG): Please note that the Warehouse Inventory Search Tool (WIST) will be replacing the EDG in the near future. At this time, we request that registered users migrate your user accounts and begin using WIST. We will send registered users an email with further information on WIST and the migration process in the next few weeks. We also encourage guest users to begin using WIST when it becomes available.

This interface provides access to the entire archive of data and browse files, and is currently the only interface that allows you to order spatial and parameter subsets of AMSR-E products, except for Level-2B land.

Preliminary Data

Registration is required to access the most recent eight days of preliminary data via FTP.

SNOWI

This tool provides a quick and simple way to search and order products from NSIDC.

Subscription

Based on your preference, NSIDC will either push new data to your local server via FTP, or will stage new data on our FTP site for you to pull.
