Ground Water Atlas of the United States: Alaska

View Catalog Page

Entry ID

GGD617

Summary

The Ground Water Atlas of the United States includes summary information on permafrost in Alaska, and the relation of permafrost and ground water. The Atlas includes figures showing permafrost zones in Alaska, the approximate depth of the permafrost, small thaw lakes that form in continuous permafrost areas, pingos that form in permafrost areas, and a generalized diagrammatic section showing aquifers and permafrost. The ground water atlas information for Alaska can be found at http://capp.water.usgs.gov/gwa/ch_n/N-AKtext1.html.
