The mount orientation of the samples is given in a separate file titled 'sample orientation.doc.' This file contains a list of all the samples specified by depth, followed by the tipping angle.
To rotate the c-axes to 'vertical,' the following procedure must be used: Convert the two Euler angles to unit vectors, and rotate the vectors by the tipping angle about the z-axis.
To rotate the c-axes to 'horizontal,' rotate the vectors about the x-axis by 90°.
Most of the data were taken from the Siple Dome A core. The core hole for each thin section is listed in the 'sample orientation.doc' file.EnglishAGDCAGDCAntarctic Glaciological Data Centerhttp://nsidc.org/agdc/Data Center ContactAGDCUser Servicesnsidc@nsidc.org1-303-492-61991-303-492-2468National Snow and Ice Data CenterCIRES, 449 UCBUniversity of ColoradoBoulderCO80309-0449USAFTP1 - 50 KBASCIIDiPrinzio, C.L., , L.A. The instrument used for the measurements consists of a fiber-optic white light source, one fixed black-and-white video camera, and four rotation stages.
