This section of the Web site is designed to help National Science Foundation (NSF) Office of Polar Programs (OPP)-funded investigators submit their data for archival by the AGDC. Investigators who are not funded under the NSF Antarctic Glaciology program should submit metadata directly to the Antarctic Master Directory (AMD), per the NSF OPP Data Policy.
The NSF OPP Guidelines and Award Conditions for Scientific Data state that:
"Principal investigators should make their data available to all reasonable requests (as specified in the NSF Grant Proposal Guide, Section VII-H) and, where applicable, the principal investigators should submit the data collected to designated data centers as soon as possible, but no later than two (2) years after the data are collected."
Visit the Guidelines and Award Conditions for Scientific Data provided by NSF for more information.
To comply with the NSF OPP Data Policy, to satisfy the needs of the Principal Investigators, and to serve the broader scientific community, the AGDC has developed a comprehensive online submission form for scientists to use in contributing data to the AGDC. To initiate the data transfer process, investigators should complete our Data Submission Form. Once we receive your form input, we will contact you with information about transferring your data via our FTP site or other means. Please direct questions regarding data submission to Rob Bauer (bauerr@nsidc.org). We solicit cmments or suggestions. We are also willing to work with those Principal Investigators who feel that their data sets require a modification to our usual approach.
