Querying A-CAP: Click On The Map To Get Data Values

To receive automatic notification of new updates, sign up for the ACAP RSS feed. RSS feed icon

Users of the Antarctic Cryosphere Access Portal (A-CAP) Beta Version can now query the map image for the data values at a location they are interested in. To use the new features, select query on the left-hand side of the screen and then click on the map. Refer to Figure 1.

For more information about the query function, see "map query" in the A-CAP user manual.

The query results appear as a pop-up window. Refer to Figure 2.
Note:
Some browsers disable pop-up windows. You may need to enable pop-up windows for the query window to appear.

Table 1 provides the spatial information for the selected location. Table 2 provides the data values associated with that location for the layers that are currently selected. Please note that not all A-CAP layers are queryable. Furthermore, if you click outside the spatial extent for a given layer, it will not be included.

Hint: If you wish to query several different layers at the same time (e.g. each of the available DEMs) but not necessarily view each of these in the resulting map image, you can set the opacity to 1% for the layers that you wish to be invisible yet queryable.
