WAIS Workshop 2014
The 22nd West Antarctic Ice Sheet Initiative (WAIS) Workshop will take place in September in southern California. This three-day workshop brings together early career and senior researchers for an exchange of ideas and cutting edge science on the WAIS. Stay tuned for more details.

Follow NSIDC scientists as they explore the crumbling Antarctic Ice Shelf as part of the NSF-funded Larsen Ice Shelf System Antractica (LARISSA) project.
MODIS Mosaic of Antarctica (MOA) Image Map
Use the MOA Image Map, which consists of two cloud-free digital image maps that show mean surface morphology and a quantatative measure of optical snow grain size on the Antarctic continent and surrounding islands.
Images of Antarctic Ice Shelves
View pictures from the Antarctic Ice Shelf Image Archive spanning back to the late 1980s using data from the AVHRR Polar 1 km data set and the MODIS Level-1B data set.
The Antarctic Glaciological Data Center (AGDC) at NSIDC archives and distributes Antarctic glaciological and cryospheric data collected by the U.S. Antarctic Program. You can access the data, the metadata, and the guide documentation for each data set as well as submit your data for archival, find related data sets that are compiled and organized by other funding agencies, and access a collection of Antarctica photographs and images from the NSIDC archive from this Web site.
The AGDC team works with Principle Investigators (PIs) and data providers to create and publish data sets. We work to ensure that past, present, and future science data remain accessible for studying the Earth and its climate.
Funding for this project is provided by the Division of Polar Programs, Antarctic Research, Glaciology Grant: NSF OPP ANT 0944763. AGDC is part of the U.S. Antarctic Data Consortium (ADC).
