Data Sets & Documentation

The National Snow and Ice Data Center offers more than 500 data products to researchers, commercial applications users, and others worldwide. Usually, we provide our data at no cost because of the generosity of the organizations that support us; for more details, see About NSIDC: Sponsors.

We document our data sets and products according to accepted documentation standards. Our technical writers ensure that each data set is both complete and appropriately documented so that users may easily locate, access, and use the data we house.
