The National Snow and Ice Data Center part of the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) at the University of Colorado at Boulder, serves as a national information and referral center in support of snow and ice research. NSIDC is a trusted source of cryospheric data and services, and is a leader in research and development within this field.
The NSIDC User Services Office (USO) is a scientific information service for NSIDC's user community. USO is the central interface to the public for the entire data center. Providing this function includes collecting and maintaining user contact and request information, providing information on data services and troubleshooting technical problems, maintaining detailed product and scientific knowledge in assigned areas, and representing the user perspective in product development on external teams. USO works closely with scientists and data management staff and reports to the USO Lead. This is a part-time, 50% position in which the employee will be benefits-eligible and eligible to earn pro-rated leave accruals.
The position will be filled as a Professional Research Assistant at the University of Colorado at Boulder and will be eligible for employee benefits, including 22 days of vacation (for a 100% position) per year.
