NSIDC Linux System Administrator

NSIDC is a University of Colorado Center and a component of the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES). We are funded primarily by NASA, the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). NSIDC collects and distributes digital and analog snow and ice data. We perform leading edge cryospheric science, and provide information about snow cover and avalanches, glaciers and ice sheets, floating ice, ground ice and permafrost, atmospheric ice, paleoglaciology and ice cores. NSIDC receives extensive coverage by the international media due to our expertise on the shrinking polar sea ice. Our mission is to make fundamental contributions to cryospheric science and excel in managing data and disseminating information in order to advance understanding of the Earth system and the changes being detected.
