The mission of the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) is to make fundamental contributions to cryospheric science and excel in managing data and disseminating information in order to advance understanding of the Earth system. NSIDC is a trusted source of cryospheric data and services, and is a leader in research and development within this field. NSIDC seeks a motivated, mid- to senior-level Front-End Web Developer to design, develop, and implement interfaces in our web application environment and provide general front-end web application development support using lean UX practices for rapid design development. We work in small agile teams to architect and implement new and ongoing projects. This position will reside within or work in close collaboration with our agile development teams and our senior web designer. High priority development projects include a comprehensive data search/access/delivery portal for cryospheric data and interactive, data visualization approaches. Projects may include the development and evolution of tool suites, web services, and databases to manage NSIDC’s archive of scientific data and serve them in innovative ways to our global user communities.
